Virtual Design Construction:
we strongly advocate the use of Building Information Modelling processes.

Holmes Miller strongly advocate the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes, due to the significant benefits and cost saving it can bring to the capital and operational expenditure of a buildings life

As early adopters we have developed robust systems and processes enshrined in our Practice policy and BIM Implementation Plan. We have developed a suit of documentation to ensure the delivery of level 2 compliant procurement processes.in accordance with the 1192 series of PAS and BS Specifications along with the other key pillars of BIM.

As a practice we have invested heavily in software and training, with all our technical staff highly proficient in the use of Autodesk REVIT and several popular CDEs. To maintain and monitor the quality of our BIM output and ongoing training needs of our staff, we have a dedicated in-house BIM Manager. Our BIM Manager ensures that we remain at the forefront of this fast and evolving industry by using parametric technologies such as Dynamo for form creation and content validation, as well as overseeing the daily implementation of all aspects of our standard implementation plan and industry compliant standards which defines our in-house processes and protocols that we follow on all projects.

In addition to delivering all architectural drawing information and deliverables in federated BIM’s we also offer Clash Detection, embedded asset information provision 4D / 5D Planning and comprehensive information drops including COBie to assist our client’s needs over the lifetime of a project.

At Holmes Miller we have fully embraced BIM and the benefits it can bring to our clients and projects. We currently work with a number of UK private and public bodies to knowledge share our experiences on the journey and to support local SME’s and the local professional community to deliver greater collaboration throughout the industry.
