Holmes Miller’s Joyce Yazbeck recently visited the secondary school she had attended in East London to give a talk about a career in Architecture to a group of students, some of which were starting their GCSEs and some of which were studying for their A levels.
The presentation centred on her journey from undergraduate education through to the projects she is currently working on at Holmes Miller. The students were thoroughly enthused about the presentation and had a variety of questions ranging from how to prepare a portfolio for university to understanding Joyce’s day to day activity including how much engagement she had in large projects.
After the talk, Joyce was invited to help out with an after school STEM club, who were in the midst of building go-karts. The whole afternoon was thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding for both Joyce and the students who have been given an exciting overview of careers in Architecture and have hopefully been inspired in their future career direction!
