KC Stadium, Hull

This major sports development set within the urban regeneration of West Park, Hull, includes a 25,000 seat stadium, a 12 court sports arena and associated sporting, educational and recreational facilities. This is a community development in all aspects with the podium of the stadium given over to a variety of community uses including facilities for Hull College incorporating fitness, sport and computer courses.

We worked closely with the structural engineers, Anthony Hunt Associates, the Steelwork Contractors, Watsons and Westcol, and the cladding sub-contractor, Keyclad, to ensure a cost-effective solution while dealing with complex geometries.

To resolve detailed cladding issues arising out of the complex geometry, site based workshops were convened involving the main contractor, design team, steelwork contractor and specialist cladding sub-contractors. These were effective in resolving interface issues.

The contract was delivered to very tight programming constraints.
