Hampden Park North Stand, Glasgow

A Holmes Miller-led design team was appointed by Hampden Park Ltd to design this extension to Scotland’s National Stadium.

These works are also an essential element of the development of Hampden Campus which will host the track and field athletics events and the closing ceremony of the XX Commonwealth Games, in 2014.

The project has created a new public face and identity for the northern side of the stadium, extending the existing North Stand concourse to provide facilities that will bring an uplift in spectator comfort during the period of the Commonwealth Games and which will also leave a permanent legacy for the improved operation of Hampden Park.

The first floor extension provides new wheelchair accessible facilities including lifts, toilets and catering outlets. Additional spectator concourse area, catering kiosks and toilets have also been provided.

The project was completed in the Spring of 2013 and was successfully used for the Scottish Cup Final in May 2013.
