Stadium Complex, Ahmedabad

Set within the heart of Ahmedabad, within sight of the zoo and lake, this TransStadia project is a significant addition to the sporting requirements of the state of Gujerat.

With a seating capacity of 23,000 this multi-sport development will offer a venue for football and hockey within the bowl, and a multitude of indoor activities within the stadiarena Hall.

This ground-breaking development will be the first project in the world to include the stadiarena concept. This concept utilises the seating capacity within the end stand in an indoor environment, with the façade facing the playing surface being closed off with the use of a Megadoor, as used on aircraft hangers.

This new indoor space, when the door is closed, can be made to suit many events as the seats are in moveable banks which can be utilised in other formations or stored in their closed positions.

The development will also include a 120 bedroom 5 star hotel, a sporting club and sporting academy, a multiplex cinema and hypermarket.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the First Minister in January 2009 with a start date of July 2011.
