York Community Stadium & Leisure Centre

Holmes Miller was appointed in 2009 by York Council to develop proposals for a new Community Stadium including community sports, education, health / well-being facilities and hotel.

This commission was extended to include the development of a project brief, with further client technical advice through to the outline planning application and contractor procurement strategy.

A further commission in 2012 included developing concept design for a community stadium and hub complex. The proposals will provide an extensive range of community facilities. Not only will the scheme provide a new stadium, it will also includes refurbishment of the leisure facilities, a new library, a child’s play facility, as well as an extensive range of community health and learning facilities resulting in one of the country’s most exciting and far reaching community stadium project that embraces all aspects of Health + Wellbeing, that is truly inclusive.

Final concept design has provided the City with a vision to procure a design, build, manage and operate team for the Stadium and Hub facility.
