Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Clydebank

Holmes Miller’s design for Golden Jubilee National Hospital new entrance and reception challenged preconceived ideas and thinking to deliver their requirements in an innovative and modern way that exceeded all expectations.
The stunning new main entrance gateway and dedicated redesigned reception facility – conceived as bold modern interventions to complement the existing building – facilitates the growing number of patients being treated at the Hospital and supports its new status of specialist West of Scotland Heart and Lung Centre

The V-shaped gateway signals the hospital’s main arrival point whilst the new-look reception area provides increased space and capacity that enhances patient experience in a pleasant and safe working environment for staff and visitors.

Complimenting the new interventions is an external arrival concourse with hard and soft finishes carefully integrated around the new structures to define pedestrian routes and a new separate ambulance entrance – to maintain patient privacy during transfer – as well as dedicated ambulance parking and transport drop off points for patients and visitors.
The visually striking design is innovative and aims to set an example as a modern approach to hospitals which is open, transparent and inviting.
