A Fond Farewell to Douglas Jack from Holmes Miller!

Happy Retirement Douglas.

After an incredible journey that began in 1987 at Holmes Partnership, we bid a heartfelt farewell to Douglas Jack, a shareholding Director and true legend in our midst!

Douglas, the visionary leader of our residential team, achieved the prestigious title of accredited RIAS conservation architect. His magic touch revitalised iconic structures, from Marischal College in Aberdeen to the Borders Bookstore in Glasgow, leaving an indelible mark on the architectural landscape.

In recent years, Douglas dedicated his expertise to the care home sector, bringing his passion and ingenuity to create spaces that truly matter.

But Douglas wasn't just about blueprints and buildings; he brought laughter and joy to the office with his dry wit and infamous leaving speeches, a penchant for funny photographs on study tours and his legendary portrayal of Santa Claus during Christmas festivities.

As a mentor, Douglas wielded his red pen with grace, guiding and inspiring countless staff members with precision and humour. This week, he embarks on a long-awaited trip to the southern hemisphere, ready to explore new horizons and create unforgettable memories.

So, let's raise a glass to Douglas Jack—a man of immense wit, humour, intelligence, and irreplaceable charm. Here's to a retirement that's as long, happy, and hilarious as the incredible journey he shared with us. Cheers to Douglas and the adventures that lie ahead!
